10 Worst Celebrities To Serve In Restaurants According To Servers

Lots of celebrities go to restaurants all the time and are absolutely gracious people to wait on and generous tips, but in the world of camera phones, Instagram stories, and hot Reddit threads, you’ll probably find out when this isn’t the case. On the one hand, becoming famous can be difficult. Everywhere you go you can expect people to recognize you and have preconceived notions about you. But then again, most celebrities have it easy. They’re usually well off – if not downright rich – and not worried about a roof over their heads, the clothes on their backs, or the next meal they’re going to eat.

Given that it’s thanks to their fans and followers that celebrities have the means for such comfort, it’s nice to hear that when they go out to eat, they treat the staff with respect. Apparently that is not the case for these people being introduced today. A few celebs have had enough encounters with restaurant workers that they’ve been named the worst celebrities served in restaurants.

Anna Wintour

While dining at a restaurant, Anna Wintour was described at length as “absolutely awful” and rudely briefed to the entire staff, according to Michael Cecchi-Azzolina, the former maitre d’ at NYC’s Michelin-starred restaurant Le Coucou, in his book “Your Table.” is finished”. The infamous Vogue fashion icon tends to “march in without a reservation and request a table,” Cecchi-Azzolina writes, and she requests a “very rare” steak to be served “immediately.”

“She just walked in or called and said, ‘I’m coming.’ One time she came in and we closed the back room and she insisted on sitting in the back room and we had to keep a waiter there and give her her own waiter. Boy was that waitress pissed off,” Cecchi-Azzolina recounted The New York Post in an interview.

In October 2022, comedian and TV host James Corden was banned from a New York restaurant called Balthazar. He reportedly yelled at staff and berated them for minor mistakes made in dishes served to his wife. The restaurant’s owner, Keith McNally, called Corden a “wee little cretin of a man” on Twitter and reported that it wasn’t the first time Corden had been uncomfortable at his establishment.

To Corden’s credit, He reportedly called the restaurant later and offered what appeared to be a sincere apology and was invited back, but let’s face it: apologizing after a public outing is more about saving face than making amends. If his behavior had never been shared, it would be quite unlikely that he would have made that call.

According to multiple servers that have been waiting for Khloe Kardashian, she’s an uncouth customer nightmare. In a Reddit thread on the “Subreddit” called “Tales From Your Server,” one person said of her, “She was extremely rude and demanding and I hated it so much.” Another added, “I was at a banquet for Khloes Had a cocktail at table so there was no bill and she didn’t tip. She was just a pain in the ass in almost every way… She never thanked me or even truly acknowledged me, and she didn’t stop gesturing long enough for me to put her drinks down. She was also brushing her arm with a napkin when I accidentally brushed it. It was a horrible night.”

But according to a server who shared the Server Life subreddit, he’d rather not. The person said in part: “Drake didn’t want to pay the full amount we charged because we charged him a room fee for opening the restaurant four hours after we closed. We argued with our GM and ended up paying the full amount with no tip.”

According to a server who shared with The richestthe actress once returned a basic breakfast order a whopping four times, and then ended up changing her order altogether.

As it turns out, Mariah Carey fully deserves her “diva” reputation. A server on Reddit said of the star: “She came to my place of work once and was a NIGHTMARE the whole time. The way she spoke to both her own team and my team was appalling.” Another shared that a family friend had previously worked with her and had been told not to even see the singer view.
