14-year-old Liberty City boy reported missing, found safe in downtown Brickell, police say – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

MIAMI (WSVN) – Police said they found a 14-year-old boy a day after he was reported missing in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood.
Miami City Police confirmed Saturday evening that Jose Bolanos was found unharmed in downtown Brickell.
Hours earlier, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement had issued a missing person alert for the teenager.
Accordingly Miami City Police DepartmentBolanos, who is on the autism spectrum, was last seen Friday around 4 p.m. in the area of the 1800 block of Northwest 55th Terrace.
His family said the boy lost his cellphone while taking out the trash Friday afternoon and got on a public bus.
The teen visited the Apple Store in Brickell City Center between 5 and 6 p.m. His family said he tried to buy a charger and restore iCloud.
On Saturday, Bolanos returned to the Apple Store, approached a family and asked if he could use their phone. The family saw that the child was missing and called the police.
Officers responded to the Apple Store and found the teenager there.
Bolanos has now been reunited with his family.
