A fleet of brand new Jaguar SUVs worth at least £260,000 are now engulfed in flames on the motorway shoulder

Brand new Jaguar electric SUVs burst into flames alongside the M1.

At least four of the I-PACE engines, which cost from £65,000, were destroyed when the fire broke out on a van.

Traffic was halted on the southbound M1 near Trowell Services, Notts – and northbound as smoke blew across the road.

Both lanes were reopened at 1.50 p.m. around six hours after the fire broke out.

The fire department said the cause of Monday’s fire was under investigation.
