A look inside the new Midtown Topgolf location

ST. LOUIS – Hundreds gathered at Topgolf’s new Midtown location Friday night for the grand opening celebration.

The new venue is expected to attract at least 600,000 attendees each year, generate $2 million in sales taxes and create approximately 500 new jobs.

Topgolf offers a wide selection of fifteen golf games that use microchip balls and Toptracer technology to keep track of every shot. The facility offers free WiFi, a 28-foot video wall, more than 200 HD televisions, and a bar and restaurant.

“Anyone can come to a Topgolf and have fun,” Tommy Fernandez said. “You don’t have to be a professional golfer or have never played golf before. It’s just about having fun.”

Midtown’s TopGolf features three levels of 102 climate-controlled outdoor hitting bays. Each bay has lounge sofas and high tables for partying while they wait their turn.

This is the second Topgolf in the St. Louis area after Chesterfield opened a venue several years ago. Residents are excited to have this new venue downtown.

“We’re thrilled it’s here. We’ve seen it grow from an empty field to this amazing thing,” Justin Morgan said. “I think it’s a really fun atmosphere and experience for the whole family.”

Leading up to the grand opening, Topgolf also secured several community partnerships.

“It was all about networking and networking, not only with my playmakers of the 5,000 people we hired, but also working with SLU and the police departments in the area,” Fernandez said.

TopGolf is open Sunday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to midnight.

Anyone under 16 years of age must be supervised at all times by a guest 21 years of age or older. Guests under 18 must be supervised by a guest who is at least 21 years old after 9:00 p.m
