The only thing that slowed Donald Trump’s impeachment last week was his own fingers, according to a new report from Yahoo News. A court clerk had to provide lotion because his fingers were too dry to take fingerprints, the report claimed, citing a law enforcement source.

According to Yahoo News, no one in the courthouse visibly cried when Trump was arrested, the former president claimed to Tucker Carlson in an interview that aired Tuesday. The only delay in his indictment came when he had to moisten his fingers with lotion because they were reportedly too dry for authorities to take his fingerprints.

Last Tuesday, a grand jury in Manhattan indicted Trump on 34 counts of business fraudin connection with allegations of a $130,000 hush-money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.

Trump’s lawyer did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment. The Manhattan Attorney’s Office did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.

In an interview with Tucker Carlson which aired Tuesday night, Trump said staff members cried when he was arrested.

“It’s a tough, tough place and they cried. You actually cried. They said, ‘I’m sorry.’ They said, “2024, sir. 2024.” And tears rolled down their eyes,” Trump told Carlson.

A law enforcement source told Yahoo News: The claim was “absolute BS”.

“There were zero people crying. There were zero people saying ‘I’m sorry,'” the source told Yahoo.
