AI Express unveils new vision and strives for market dominance

Network optimisation, streamlining operations with a digital-first approach and enhancing the guest experience are part of Air India Express (AIX)’s new vision, unveiled by Managing Director Aloke Singh at a town hall meeting.

The airline’s new brand identity is expected to be unveiled over the next two months. AIX began operations in 2005, focusing on short-haul international routes.

AirAsia India is set to merge with AIX and the combined company will serve both domestic and international markets. The airline will introduce 50 Boeing 737 Max aircraft by December next year, company sources said earlier.

“Our vision encapsulates our key differentiators: to make meaningful connections, deliver unique experiences and deliver best-in-class value with Indian warmth. “Our ambitions are based on our tremendous fleet and network expansion both in the domestic market and in the short-haul international market,” Singh said in his address.

The airline’s goal is to leverage merger synergies to drive cost savings.

Earlier this year, the two airlines launched a unified website, shared social media profiles and an integrated passenger service system, as well as merging a variety of additional ancillary services. The airlines have also announced the harmonization of new promotion levels, rewards and benefits with Air India, allowing for a unified structure and streamlined career paths across the Air India group
