Last year, Amazon completed an $8.5 billion acquisition of movie studio MGM, giving them ownership of thousands of the studio’s films and TV shows. Now they must figure out what to do with all of their properties… and in the latest episode of the podcast The hot microphone, hosted by writer/critic John Rocha and writer/critic/reporter Jeff Sneider, Sneider revealed the six MGM properties Amazon is most interested in. These are their top priorities: Stargate, The Thomas Crown Affair, Legally Blonde, Rocky, Poltergeist, And RoboCop.

It’s not surprising to hear Amazon wants to keep stargate as this franchise already consists of a few films and many television seasons. Michael B. Jordan was attached to a new version of The Thomas Crown Affair for a while and Reese Witherspoon is on board to come back for one Naturally blonde 3, so maybe these projects will soon be put on the fast track to production. Although Sylvester Stallone has made his problems with Rocky Franchise producer Irwin Winkler recently made it public that this trait is still alive Creed III in theaters now and a potential Drago spin-off in development.

It’s a bit surprising to hear that a poltergeist Revival is a big priority at Amazon, but Sneider notes that horror is a big moneymaker and poltergeist is one of the biggest horror titles in the MGM library. But bring poltergeist back can be “complicated by the fact that Steven Spielberg would likely have to be involved‘ as he co-wrote the original film and was a very hands-on producer.

As for RoboCopit was announced a few years ago that Neill Blomkamp would be directing a direct sequel to the original film, a project that was called Robo Cop returns. Blomkamp had to vacate the director’s chair for scheduling reasons Robo Cop returns was handed off to director Abe Forsythe… and we haven’t heard from it in over three years. This is how Amazon gets Robo Cop returns back on their feet or are they developing something completely new? We’ll have to wait and see.

Sneider doesn’t know if Amazon is considering converting these properties into TV shows or making more films in the franchises. But since they’re a top priority, we should be hearing more about the franchise revivals very soon.
