Apple and Google are issuing urgent “Code Red” warnings to billions of iPhone and Android owners – it’s reckless to ignore them

BILLIONS of iPhone and Android owners are being urged to heed important advice from Apple and Google today.
Ignoring the warnings can cost you dearly.
Both tech giants released important security updates in February.
These should never be ignored as they close loopholes that hackers can use to hijack your device – and potentially hijack your digital life.
Security updates are completely free to install and can protect you from nefarious cyber attacks.
Otherwise, you will become a victim of digital crime which can result in your texts, photos and funds being stolen.

iPhone security alert
Apple issued its own security warning to iPhone owners in February.
According to the update, the issue would allow hackers to run code on your device.
This could give them unrestricted access to some of the most personal parts of your iPhone.
Disturbingly, Apple reported that it was “aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.”
That means someone may already be taking over iPhones using the mystery method.
Luckily, the latest iOS update for iPhone fixes the problem completely.
Just go to Settings > General > Software Update and make sure you’re running at least iOS 16.3.1.
If not, install the latest update as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, not all models can upgrade to iOS 16 and iOS 16.3.1.
If your device is too old, you might want to consider upgrading to a newer device very soon.
Android security warning
Google also released a February security update for Android phones.
The tech giant says the “most serious” issue fixed is a “high security vulnerability”.
This could allow hackers to take control of your smartphone or apps.
“The severity rating is based on the impact that exploiting the vulnerability would potentially have on an affected device,” Google explains.
Dozens of fixes were released in February, so make sure to update as soon as possible.
You should get a notification when an update is available for your phone.
However, you can update manually by going to Settings > System > System update.

This way you can install any new updates.
You can also specifically check for security updates by going to Settings > Security > Google Security Checkup.
