Go to your settings and click on “Cellular” or “Mobile Data” depending on whether or not you sent your phone in American English.

Then click on “Cellular Data Options” or “Cellular Data Options”.

Next you need to click on “Data Mode”.

Here you can choose between “Standard”, “Low Data Mode” and “Allow more data on 5G”.

You can click “Low Data Mode” if you want to save both data and battery.

Apple explains, “Allowing more data on 5G can favor 5G over WiFi and use it for software updates, automated iCloud backups, and higher-quality media.”

This setting is quick and useful, but it can also drain your battery and even your data plan.

Using standard or low data mode might help you.

Apple continues: “Standard allows automatic updates and background tasks on mobile data, but limits video and FaceTime quality.

“Low data mode helps reduce mobile data usage by pausing automatic updates and background tasks.”

Turning off 5G mode completely on your iPhone can also save battery, and the process is pretty similar.

Again look for “Cellular Data Options” and click on “Voice & Data”.

Here you can disable “5G Auto” and select “4G” instead.
