Applications for a one-time direct payment of $1,000 from a pot of $1.2 million are open today – check if you are eligible

APPLICATIONS for a brand new tax reduction for more than a thousand households are now open.

Boise, Idaho, recently announced that homeowners who are already eligible for the statewide Circuit Breaker property tax program will be able to

The Circuit Breaker program provides eligible rebates of up to $1,500 on a home and up to an acre of land.

Eligible applicants must have an annual income of less than $32,000, be 65 years of age or older, be a former prisoner of war, or be legally blind or disabled.

Owned mobile homes also qualify, and applicants must have net worth of less than $800,000.

Up to 1,200 Boise residents can reportedly qualify for the new discount the Washington Examiner.

The city hasn’t made it clear how much applicants can expect from the new reduction.

However, based on 1,200 eligible residents and a total pot of $1.2 million, estimates place it at $1,000 per household.

Applications will be accepted until May 1st, 2023.

Eligible applicants should receive applications in the mail in the coming weeks, other applications will be available at local libraries and other town centers.

Boise is one of many cities and states focusing on housing-related discounts ahead of the holiday.

Around 870,000 New Jersey homeowners are eligible for property tax rebates of up to $1,500.

Homeowners earning $150,000 or less qualify for the $1,500, while those earning between $150,000 and $250,000 receive $1,000.

New Jersey is also extending the relief to renters.

Around 900,000 renters earning less than $150,000 are eligible for discounts of up to $450.
