Arun Roy is the new secretary of TN Industries

V. Arun Roy, Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the new Industries Minister, a government order said. He will replace S Krishnan, who will move to the Center as information technology secretary.

Roy, a 2003-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS, has held several posts in the past, including deputy secretary of the government’s finance department and managing director of the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.

He will assume charge at a critical time as the Government of Tamil Nadu plans to host the Global Investors Meet in Chennai on January 7 and 8, 2024.
