Ballpark Village is ready for football fever as the new NFL season begins

ST. LOUIS — A new NFL season begins Thursday, and the return of cooler weather has local restaurants hoping people will use their outdoor spaces to watch the first game.
The reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will host the Detroit Lions in their season opener on Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. and your local NBC affiliate will broadcast the broadcast.
At Ballpark Village they are preparing for the big game on Thursday evening. Weather-wise, you couldn’t ask for more perfect nighttime weather for these outdoor watch parties. Temperatures will hover around the 70s.
“We struggled with these temperatures all summer long. It’s nice to be able to enjoy some nice evenings now that fall is approaching,” said Andrew Dreyer, the entertainment manager at Ballpark Village.
Dreyer said it was perfect football weather for the first game. Since the Chiefs are based in Missouri, it is a team that is close to some people’s hearts.
Yes, we’re happy to have some Chiefs fans down here. You know that we have several viewing options here on the square. As well as indoors at Bally Sports Live! “I’m looking forward to opening the football season and bringing some football fans back here,” he said.
And the fun doesn’t stop after Thursday, because the weather looks great over the weekend too.
“We’re going to have quite a weekend of college football on Saturday. The Guns and Roses concert at Busch Stadium. The weather looks like we can open the roof inside,” Dreyer said.
And this will be the first NFL Sunday with the new 65-foot wide LED TV on Bally Sports Live! You can play up to eight games at once, including the St. Louis Cardinals’ series finale on Thursday against the Atlanta Braves.
Down in Soulard there is a Chiefs Watch Party at the Anheuser-Busch Beer Garden starting at 6 p.m
