Ben Foden has described his decision to marry Jackie Belanoff Smith on the same day his divorce from Una Healy was finalized as “a bit reckless”.

Rugby international and Saturdays singer Una’s marriage officially ended in January 2019, the same day Ben married his entrepreneur bride Jackie.

Ben and Una tied the knot in Ireland in 2012 before divorcing in 2018 after having two children together.

Reflecting on his decision to tie the knot that day, Ben admitted it was “a bit reckless.”

“I also know what I was looking for in a person and when I met Jackie I knew immediately that I had to have this woman in my life forever,” he explained OK! magazine.

“The most important thing is that she is happy and we wish Una happiness in every way.”

It follows the couple’s announcement earlier this week that they are expecting their second child together after Jackie suffered three miscarriages.

“We told Aoife and Tadhg they were having another sibling when they came to visit for a month in the summer,” Ben added. “They will also come over for Christmas, just before the baby is born.

“We normally go back to England for Christmas and alternate with Una in Ireland every year, but Jackie can’t travel then so the kids come here.”

Ben currently lives in the United States, where he juggles his jobs as a real estate agent and rugby coach.

However, he revealed that he is ready to get closer to his children in the future.

“That’s the million dollar question. Jackie goes through phases where she thinks we should move back to England and of course I would like to be closer to Aoife and Tadhg.”

“As far as work goes, I’m not sure that could happen,” he added. “I am trying to build a career in the luxury real estate world in NYC by joining the Jonathan Stein team at Douglas Elliman while also training at the local University of Iona.”
