Celebrity Trainer Isaac Boots Launches Weighted Activewear – WWD

Celebrity trainer Isaac Boots is launching an activewear line that can literally handle a little extra weight.

Each of the eight products in the Torch’d powered by Kilogear collection features removable weights to enhance workouts or everyday movements with additional shaping and calorie burning.

“Even if you don’t exercise, you burn 40 percent more than if you didn’t wear it,” Boots said. “You keep your body activated and it looks hot.”

While Boots set out to create multi-functional activewear in collaboration with Kilogear, a weighted fitness clothing brand, creating a chic collection was crucial.

“The collection is truly a love letter to the women who have inspired me, such as Brigitte Bardot, Faye Dunaway and Catherine Deneuve,” Boots said, noting that he has worked with Dunaway for more than 14 years. She was also the maid of honor at the coach’s wedding.

“I love old Hollywood and I love old glamour,” Boots told Beauty Inc. “I wanted to combine this idea of dressing up, dressing up and feeling glamorous with the American ideals of training and wellness, because both ideals are synonymous with who I am, and Torch’d is my brand. I live and breathe it.”

In doing so, Boots opted for several classic yet fashionable items including Weighted Arm and Leg Power Bands, Thigh Master Shorts, Leg Master Unitards, Side Shaper Tanks, Core Sculpt Long Sleeve Shrugs and Booty lift leggings. Prices range from $30 to $140. While Boots worked with Kilogear to develop the line last year, he really saw the need for this type of product while traveling and working with clients on the go.

“[With] I travel so much and most of my clients are on set, they’re on tour, and traveling with weights can be awkward, and so I thought, “Why don’t we mix it up?” “You can just take it with you and pack it and you can just put it on?” he said. “You work out and then you can literally go to lunch in it and look chic.”

This launch is the latest addition to Boots’ Torch’d brand, which began with its signature workouts and has expanded to include merchandise, workout gear, and CBD patches and gummies, which launched in June. With these latest launches, Boots continues to expand the Torch’d world.

“They are all parts of what Torch’d is. I’ve always said that Torch’d isn’t just training. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a community,” Boots said. “Whether it’s my patches or my rubbers, it’s all part of the experience.”

The collection, available Friday, debuts Saturday at the Plaza Hotel during a New York Fashion Week presentation with models including Lisa Rinna.

“I am a New Yorker. I’ve lived here since 1998 and when I think of iconic places in New York City, The Plaza is number one,” said Boots. “The idea of presenting this collection at New York Fashion Week in this iconic venue with dear friends… it feels like the celebratory way to unveil it.”

According to the brand, the collection is expected to generate sales of $1 million to $1.5 million in the first year and provide partner Kilogear with 15 percent growth. This is the first of eight collections launching over the next two years.
