Chrissy Teigen and Olivia Wilde attend One Fair Wage’s fundraising dinner

Chrissy Teigen, Olivia Wilde and Meena Harris are among the celebrities set to join One Fair Wage.Server for an hour” event on September 21st.

One Fair Wage is a leading organization advocating for minimum wage increases nationwide, with a particular focus on the restaurant industry. The federal minimum wage for tipped workers has been $2.13 per hour for over 50 years.

To support One Fair Wage’s mission to raise the minimum wage, a number of celebrities will serve as waiters at a fundraising dinner at Gracias Madre in West Hollywood this week.

Teigen will serve as event director. In a statement she says diversity“I am thrilled to be hosting the Server for an Hour fundraiser, a cause that is very close to my heart. Supporting fair wages for service workers is important not only because it’s the right thing to do, but also because it has far-reaching impacts on families and communities. Food has always been a way to bring people together, and by advocating for fair wages, we recognize the importance and value of people in the service industry.”

Celebrities donning aprons and serving guests include Teigen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sarah Paulson, Olivia Wilde, Kristen Bell, Erika Alexander, Darryl Hannah and Natasha Rothwell.

One Fair Wage is a national group of restaurant workers and owners committed to increasing wages for low-income earners and ending low wages for tipped workers. This week’s event will support the organization’s goal of increasing wages in states like Michigan, Ohio and Arizona in the 2024 election.

“Together, we can get 5 million low-wage workers to the polls and give them the opportunity to increase their wages at the ballot box,” One Fair Wage’s fundraising announcement said.

Meena Harris, Vice President Kamala Harris’ niece, will emcee the evening and is one of the event’s hosts.
