Clancy Brown joins The Penguin as Salvatore Maroni

Clancy Brown heads to Gotham City to join the cast of The Penguin series as mafia boss Salvatore Maroni.

It was nice announced that Clancy Brown will be traveling to Gotham City as he joins the cast of The Penguin Series as Salvatore Maroni.

In DC Comics, Salvatore Maroni is a powerful mob boss in Gotham City who also happens to be the one who disfigured Harvey Dent and caused his transformation into Two-Face. The character has appeared several times in various Batman-related projects, most notably by Eric Roberts in The dark knight and by David Zayas in Gotham. The Penguin series stars Colin Farrell, who reprized his role as Oswald Cobblepot from Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

I can’t imagine anyone doing that is not The guy familiar with Clancy Brown has appeared in just about everything. Matt Reeves has said the series will follow on from the upcoming Batman sequel. “There’s actually quite a lot of things we want to doMatt Reeves said: “like we do [the] Penguin and how that feeds back into the sequel and what that sequel will be.”

HBO Max’s Sarah Aubrey has previously said that the events of the series will resume immediately after the end The Batman as shown by Cobblepot. “The goal is to show what Oz’s life is like, and that mostly takes place on the streets of Gotham trying to get up as only the penguin can.‘ said Aubrey. “As a hustler and strategist with his own ambitions. It’s a great example of having over eight episodes to tell a longer character story with lots of delicious twists and turns and new characters. It’s going to be a lot about Gotham at this street level because he’s not flying around like Batman. We all welcome that as a very specific experience for the audience.“Besides Colin Farrell, The Penguin will also star Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, daughter of Carmine Falcone, the crime boss played by John Turturro in the film. In the series, Sofia fights with Oswald for control of the city.
