Cocaine, Xanax and heroin were seized in Clare, along with cash, firearms and ammunition

Armed Gardai have seized thousands of pounds worth of drugs, including cocaine, amphetamine, Xanax and heroin, along with cash, a firearm and ammunition in Co Clare.
The Western Region ASU (Armed Support Unit) assisted a search operation conducted by members of the Clare Detective Units and the Clare Community in Ennis yesterday.
Gardai said the seizures were made as part of Operation Tara in the Beechpark area.
“As part of an investigation into criminal activity in Ennis, Co. Clare, yesterday after multiple searches in the Beechpark area, Gardaí seized €107,500 worth of controlled drugs and a firearm with ammunition,” Gardaí said.
“The searches were conducted by members of the Clare Detective Units, Clare Community Engagement and the Western Region ASU.
“In the course of these searches, 87,000 euros of suspected cocaine, 15,000 euros of suspected amphetamine, 5,000 euros of suspected Xanax (2,500 tablets), 500 euros of suspected heroin and 1,800 euros in cash were seized. A firearm and ammunition were also seized.”
The drugs and firearm must be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for examination.
Gardai added that there had been no arrests while the investigation was ongoing
