Congress to mark the 45th anniversary of terror

NECA has a Halloween III Dr. Challis figure created – however this will only be available at the Halloween: 45 Years of Terror convention

2023 marks the 45th anniversary of the release of John Carpenter’s classic slasher Halloween and the birth of Halloween franchise, and the franchise’s producers at Trancas International Films, will celebrate the anniversary by hosting the Halloween: 45 Years of Terror Convention in Pasadena, California this fall. The conference takes place September 29th to October 1st at the Pasadena Convention Center… and it has now been announced that convention attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to own a NECA-created figurine of Tom Atkins’ character Dr. Buy Challis Halloween III: Season of the Witch (Look at it HERE)!

HorrorHound magazine reported, “NECA has partnered with Sean Clark of Horror’s Hallowed Grounds to create an exclusive action figure to be offered at the upcoming Halloween: 45 Years of Terror Convention in Pasadena, California. The character is that of Dr. Challis out Halloween III: Season of the Witch! This extremely limited figure will be available to participants in the five-yearly Terror Event. This updated figure is based on the long-sold-out Tom Atkins sculpture that NECA released years earlier, includes movie-accurate clothing, and is packaged in a window Halloween III Artwork.” Images of the character can be seen at Sean Clark Facebook site.

The previous NECA Tom Atkins character mentioned by HorrorHound was a night of horror Detective Ray Cameron character that accompanied the Scream Factory Blu-ray release night of horror.

Written and Directed by Tommy Lee Wallace (Nigel Kneale wrote the first draft of the screenplay but wanted his name left off the credits), Halloween III: Season of the Witch has the following summary: The emergency room of the hospital Dr. Daniel “Dan” Challis and Ellie Grimbridge, the daughter of a murder victim, uncover a horrific conspiracy by small-town mask maker Conal Cochran, a madman planning a Halloween mass murder using an ancient Celtic ritual. The ritual involves a boulder stolen from Stonehenge, the use of Silver Shamrock masks and a triggering device featured in a TV commercial – all designed to kill millions of children.

Atkins is joined by Stacey Nelkin and Dan O’Herlihy in the cast.
