Costco Secrets to Save You Money – Including Spotting a ‘Manager’s Discount’

According to a recent TikTok video, FOUR Costco price codes indicate whether a product is on sale and what type of sale it is.
The TikTok channel Step, with 333,000 followers, is filled with videos on the best deals at Costco, Walmart and other retailers.
in this video, He goes over some of the subtle features of a Costco sale that you might have missed the last time you walked down the aisle.
1. Manager discount
When a price ends at zero, such as B. $12.00, according to Step, this indicates a manager discount.
“They’re trying to get rid of the item as soon as possible,” Step said.

2. Special manufacturer offer
Many shoppers are used to prices ending in 99, but what about prices ending in 9, like 59 or 69?
According to Step, these prices are code for a special manufacturer deal.
“This indicates a special low price offer that Costco received from the manufacturer,” he said.
3. Release
The next time you see a price that ends at 97, you should assume it’s a clearance item, Step said.
Clearance sales are often some of the steepest in retail, so this is a number to keep an eye on.
4. Asterisk*
According to Step, a small asterisk next to a price tag means the item won’t be there long.
“If you see an asterisk next to the price, it means the item isn’t being restocked,” he said.
Ways non-members can shop at Costco
Costco is able to charge such low prices because the majority of its profits come from annual fees paid by members who get near-exclusive access to the store.
However, there are a few ways that non-members can also participate in the savings.
One way is to order Costco items through the Instacart app.
Instacart charges $3.99 for orders over $35, and prices are slightly higher, according to Costco.
However, Instacart+ members can waive the $3.99 fee on orders over $35.
Non-members can also shop at the store, although every item they purchase, excluding prescription drugs, is subject to a five percent non-member surcharge.
