Croydon firefighter injured in floor collapse at carpet company Bucks Co. – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Croydon Fire Company captain was injured in a fall while fighting a fire at the Bucks County Carpet Outlet in Croydon early Sunday.
Officials said the captain – whom firefighters did not immediately identify – responded with crews to a fire at the store at 801 Cedar Avenue in Croydon around 2:27 a.m. Sunday, battling a blaze that had spread up an exterior wall.
While working to extinguish the flames, the captain was fighting the fire while in an attic when, according to officials, the floor “suddenly collapsed” and he fell 12 feet to the concrete floor below.
The captain was taken to a nearby hospital and the extent of his injuries was not immediately known, officials said.
Officials also said two apartments attached to the building had to be evacuated and sustained smoke damage.
Officials said the cause of the fire was under investigation and they were working to secure video from nearby businesses to gather information about what may have sparked the fire.
