A father is making waves on Reddit for saying he’s stopped making car payments for his daughter after learning about it she has worked as a stripper.
The post on Reddit received more than 20,000 reactions and over 6,000 comments.
A man who goes by the username “LivingwitHorse” shared his story of a family drama on the subreddit known as AITA (“Am I the a—–e”) — and asked others for their opinion on the case.

He said he was a 47-year-old man who did this a 22 year old daughter.“
He said She’s in college and lives there on campus.
“I agreed to help her pay for the car since she was in school,” he wrote.
But the father said he recently found out about “a young man” he works with his daughter now “strips to a club about 40 minutes away.”
THE SCIENCE BEHIND WHY “MEAN GIRLS” ARE OFTEN SO POPULAR – EVEN AS ADULTS
The man, who didn’t share his location, wrote: “I confronted her about it and she said she had no intention of doing it…and [that] she needed some money.”
The man said he told his daughter he preferred her “work at McDonald’s” not making money from the “use” of their bodies.
He continued, “We had a fight and I asked her to stop stripping and then get a decent job.”
But “she declined,” the father wrote, “said stripping was easy money.”

So, “basically,” the man added, “I said I wouldn’t have to pay for her car anymore,” “since she makes money so easily.”
He continued, “She was upset and said it wasn’t fair and she wasn’t making enough money for it. I told her to find out.”
The man said: “She told my wife what happened and my wife is upset with her job but says it’s unfair of me to stop supporting her so suddenly because of an argument.”
The father and husband also said, “I think it’s perfectly fair — it’s my money and my decision when to cut it.”

Fox News Digital has come forward a New York psychologist for insight into the family drama.
An East Coast father of four told Fox News Digital he had many questions about the story: “Does the young woman really need the money? Why did she suddenly turn to stripping?” He said there had to be more to the story.
He also said, “If the father was just paying his young daughter’s car payments – and now he’s stopped that because of her career choice – then that’s not right either.”

Many people on Reddit, meanwhile, have shared their own views and comments.
One person was particularly annoyed with the “whistle-blower” – in this scenario, not one of the family members.
“What kind of…–e tells a woman’s parents that they saw their daughter stripping like it’s any of their business?” said one commenter of the “whistleblower”.
The person continued, “Your disgusting colleague who goes to strip clubs to stare at women but then babbles about them is the greatest [a—–e] in this matter.
Another person on the same subject said, “Surprised dad wasn’t more concerned that his colleague was watching his daughter strip.”
Another commenter was quite angry at the father for not supporting his daughter anymore – and in that mindset the commenter had a lot of company.
He said the man wrongly added “conditions” to his agreement with his daughter about the car payments “after the fact.”

The same commenter accused the father of “shaming your daughter” and “not being a man of his word”.
Another person on Reddit felt the father was wrong for not fully supporting his daughter during college.
“You could have avoided that,” the commenter said directly to the father, “if you had decided to support her fully during her studies. But you left her to her own devices and she found a decent way to make money. You have no right to judge them,” the commenter added.
Another person shared the same point, writing, “You might not like it but you do [stripping] pays far better than McDonald’s for fewer hours, so she doesn’t have to rack her brains while trying to study, work, and have a social life at the same time.”
The same commenter continued, “Unfortunately, the minimum wage has stagnated for about two decades because people your age and older insist that it should stay low and that jobs like McDonald’s are ‘entry-level jobs’ and should be paid at poverty wages.”
This person continued, “She would have to work 3-5 times as many hours at a much more physically demanding job to make the same money she is making now. They demand that she demote herself.”

The same commenter added, “Also, her help paying her car payments wasn’t contingent on her having a specific job or staying away from a specific job, so moving the goalposts now is ridiculous.”
Another commenter wrote: “To convince your daughter to stop stripping you stopped paying [for] her car and now she has to undress even more!”
The person ended with, “Nice dude.”
Another person said to the father, “It’s your money for sure. But it’s also your relationship with your daughter.
Returning to a common theme among the many responses, another person said, “You should have asked the guy you work with what he was hoping to gain by telling you that.”
