Damon Lindelof and Tara Hernandez’s nun-sci-fi drama gets its weirdest trailer of the year
If there is such a thing Damon Lindelof is known for, it makes Really Great shows this can also be very, very funny. And based on the latest teaser released on Wednesday, his new Peacock show “Ms. Davis” It looks like it could be the strangest project yet from the creators of Leftovers and Watchmen.
Co-Created by Lindelof and The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon author Tara Hernandez,Mrs DavisStars “Glow” alum Betty Gilpin not as the title character, but as Simone, a nun determined to defeat the title character, who happens to be a powerful artificial intelligence program slowly taking over the entire world. Jake McDorman stars alongside Gilpin as Simone’s ex-boyfriend, rodeo cowboy Wiley, but neither actor appears in the 30-second teaser, which Peacock says is not made from actual footage of the show.

Instead, the ominous teaser sees various people around the world introducing Mrs. Davis to new destinations by presenting headphone earbuds while repeating the phrase “She wants to talk to you.” The teaser ends with the fourth wall being broken, with an agent presenting the earpiece directly to the camera and audience. In addition to the teaser, Peacock also launched one special page on their website, which allows users to chat with their show’s titular AI.
Along with Gilpin and McDorman, “Mrs. Davis” also stars Andy McQueen, Ben Chaplin, Margo Martindale, David Arquette, Elizabeth Marvel, Katja Herbers, Chris Diamantopoulo, Ashley Romans, Tom Wlaschiha and Mathilde Ollivier. Hernandez will host and co-write the series with Lindelof, and the co-creators are executive producers with directors Owen Harris (“Black Mirror: San Junipero”) and Alethea Jones (“Evil”). Warner Bros. Television is producing the series for Peacock.
Season 1 of “Mrs. Davis” consists of eight one-hour episodes. The show will make its debut as part of the SXSW festival television schedule, with its world premiere scheduled for March 14th. The first four episodes of the season premiere on Peacock on April 20, followed by new episodes to be released on Thursdays, with the finale slated for May 18.
