Delhi excise case: ED seeks 10 days jail for AAP leader Manish Sisodia

The ED brought former Delhi Deputy Prime Minister Manish Sisodia, who was arrested in a money laundering case related to excise policy, to a city court on Friday and requested his detention for 10 days.
A heavy security presence was in place inside and outside the premises of Rouse Avenue Court.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters protested outside the courthouse raising slogans in support of Sisodia, while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters protested and called for Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation over the case.

The federal authorities introduced Sisodia to the special judge MK Nagpal.
The ED arrested Sisodia on Thursday night in Tihar prison, where he was being held in connection with a case being investigated by the CBI over alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of Delhi’s now abolished 2021-22 Excise Duty Directive.
