Delta flight from Atlanta to Barcelona was forced to turn back after passengers’ diarrhea struck “the whole plane”.

The Delta flight to Spain had to be diverted after a “serious case” of outbreaks throughout the cabin.
According to Flightradar24, the plane was only two hours into the eight-hour journey from Atlanta, Georgia, to Barcelona, Spain, when it was forced to make a U-turn.
In a text message to air traffic control, the captain said: “Diversion to ATL – passenger diarrhea throughout the aircraft – biological hazard.”
“In an audio recording from the flight deck released on We had a passenger who had diarrhea the whole time on the plane, so they want us to come back to Atlanta.”

Although the person responsible for the accident could not be identified, all passengers and crew were rebooked on another flight.
After returning to the United States, the aircraft had to undergo a full industrial cleaning. According to Flightradar24, this delay meant that the flight took place eight hours later than originally planned.
It remains unclear if the passenger was on board with gastrointestinal problems when the flight eventually landed in Spain.
“My partner was on that flight! It was pretty bad. It trickled down the hallway and smelled awful.
“The vanilla-scented disinfectant just made it smell like vanilla. After landing, the plane was thoroughly cleaned. “They didn’t leave until around 2:30 a.m.,” one social media user wrote.
“The flight was picked up by rescue vehicles and rescue workers carried the sick passenger off the plane.
“My partner said the plane was cleaner when they got back on at 2am than the first time. No smell either.”
Another passenger on board the Airbus A350 also praised the drastic cleanup.
“Both my wife and I were on the flight. It was a disaster. The pilots made the right decision to turn back. The ground staff tore out the carpet and put in a new one.
“Given the circumstances, the ground crew did a great job along with the flight attendants and the pilots,” said passenger John Hurdt.
Delta officials confirmed the occurrence of a “medical issue” during the flight that led to the emergency landing and subsequent cleanup. However, they did not provide any specific information about the medical reason for the incident.
A Delta spokesman apologized to customers for the travel disruption caused by the delay, stating, “Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly clean the aircraft and get our customers to their final destination.”
“We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience with their travel plans.”
