Eagles’ D’Andre Swift fined for unnecessary roughness against Commanders – NBC Sports Philadelphia

It just looked like a tough run. But apparently it was too rough.

Eagles running back D’Andre Swift was fined $9,857 for unnecessary roughness against the Commanders last Sunday.

The play in question occurred with 2:13 left in the fourth quarter. During the game, Swift ran over Percy Butler, the Commander’s security guard. There was no flag visible on the piece.

Pretty crazy that a running back would be fined for stopping a run against players trying to hit him.

Two plays later, Swift hit a fake brotherly shove into the end zone to give the Eagles a two-touchdown lead and ultimately win 38-31 and improve to 7-1.

This is the second time this season that an Eagles offensive player has been penalized for unnecessary roughness in the way he finished his runs.

Goedert has since appealed his Week 5 fine and is awaiting a sentencing hearing.
