Elon Musk’s Neuralink device was used in 6 monkeys who “tapped their minds and played pong” in a wild show and narration.

ELON Musk has revealed that his Neuralink device was placed inside six monkeys who are said to have been typing and playing pong with their minds.

In the company’s latest update, Musk hosted a third “Show and Tell” event and made a major announcement.

Founded by Musk in 2016, Neuralink Corp. aims to implant chips in human brains so people can control computers with their minds and overcome neurological conditions such as quadriplegia.

At Wednesday night’s demonstration, Musk said, “We think we should probably be able to put a Neuralink in a human in about six months.”

The Show and Tell event revealed that monkeys reportedly used their brains to move computer cursors.

The event was not very different from what had previously been presented in April 2021 when the company unveiled a Video a monkey who appears to be equipped with a Neuralink device and plays the video game Pong.

As The US Sun previously reported, Musk switched to Twitter in May legal action that the chip implant could cure diseases like tinnitus, which causes ringing in the ears, as early as 2027.

In 2019, the Tesla founder outlined his expectations for Neuralink to lead the way towards human-AI integration.

Neuralink has since made strides in its chip development, improving on its original designs from 2019 to 2020’s N1 chip, which is only the size of a small coin, CNET reported.

However, many questions have also been raised about Neuralink’s morality with monkeys.

The show and tell comes after Tesla founder Musk accused the biotech company of torturing monkeys used for testing.

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) has created a website detailing the alleged mismanagement of the monkeys in the Neuralink experiments at the University of California.

A legal action was even filed by PCRM back in February, claiming that several monkeys had to be euthanized due to infections they contracted in their brains from an unknown substance called BioGlue on Neuralink’s chip.

Neuralink has since admitted that at least one monkey had to be put down because of BioGlue a blog post.

However, PCRM’s comments and lawsuit certainly raise questions about the side effects of Neuralink’s chip technology.

Musk appeared to indirectly address some of those claims on Wednesday.

“Before we even think about putting a device in an animal, we do everything possible with rigorous laboratory testing,” he said.

“We’re not reckless when it comes to putting these devices in animals.

“We are extremely cautious and whenever we implant the device – whether in a sheep, a pig or a monkey – we want it to be confirmatory and not exploratory.”
