Exploring Big 12 tournament seeding scenarios for West Virginia

The Big 12 conference tournament begins next week and there are still a few scenarios on the table for West Virginia leading up to the final game of the season.
The Mountaineers currently sit 17-13, 6-11 overall in the Big 12 Conference and are the No. 8 seed that would place them against No. 9 Texas Tech.
But there are different scenarios that can develop depending on what happens with recent games. And for that, along with Texas Tech and Oklahoma, we’re going to focus on West Virginia.
The game on 10.07. is scheduled for Wednesday at 19:00, while the game is scheduled for 09.08. scheduled for around 9:30 p.m. on the same day. The winner of the 7/10 game plays the number 2, while the winner of the 8/9 game plays the number 1.
How to get Seed #7:
To put it simply, there is no chance of that happening unless West Virginia is able to beat Kansas State. But the climbers don’t necessarily determine their own destiny. Not only does West Virginia need to win against the Wildcats, but they also need some help in the form of Texas Tech beating Oklahoma State.
In this scenario, West Virginia and Oklahoma State would be tied 7-11 in the league and the Mountaineers would earn the tie breaker by beating Kansas State. That would see the Mountaineers take on Oklahoma in game #7/10.

How to get Seed #8:
There are several scenarios that could put West Virginia here.
You just lose the last game of the regular season to Kansas State and Oklahoma State beats Texas Tech. The Mountaineers would have one win more than the Red Raiders and would play them in Game #8/9.

West Virginia would also place 8th if West Virginia can beat Kansas State and Oklahoma State Texas Tech. That would put the Mountaineers up 7-11 in the league and they would face No. 9 Texas Tech 5-13 in the Big 12.

How to get Seed #9:
West Virginia loses to Kansas State, but Texas Tech beats Oklahoma State. The Mountaineers would lose the various tie-breakers to the Red Raiders in this event, with both teams trailing 6-12. Again, this would see West Virginia face the Red Raiders in Game #8/9 with the Mountaineers in an inverted position.
