The White socks may have lost on Thursday, but not a single nacho was spared.
In the sixth inning, while leading 5-3 in the second game of his four-night streak at guaranteed rate field against the Oakland Athletics, the A’s Brent rooker hit a punch to left centerfield.
And although the ball was out of reach for the White Sox midfielder Luis Robert Jr.it was within reach of a bare-handed fan in the stands, holding a tray full of nachos.
The fan, wearing a Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn jersey from the 1989 film “Major League,” gently held a paper tray of nachos in his left hand while stretching his right across his body to hit the home run effortlessly catch.
He was greeted by a cheering crowd as he lifted the ball into the sky in victory.
“The White Sox should sign him,” read a social media response to the now-viral video.
According to MLB.com, the ball had an exit velocity of 103.8 miles per hour per Statcast.
The White Sox lost Thursday’s game 5-8.
