Fast X director Louis Leterrier teases Jason Momoa’s villain Dante as “pure chaos” and adds he’s obsessed with Dominic Toretto.

In the coming Fast XDominic Toretto and his family must face off against Dante, a new villain played by Jason Momoa.

When speaking to total movie, Fast X Director Louis Leterrier teased that Dante “pure chaos.“The unpredictable villain is also obsessed with Dom and has spent years studying each of his films. “Dante is in awe of Dom,‘ Letterrier said. “He analyzed it. There’s nowhere to hide because he knows Dom better than himself. Dom really does match Dante.Total Film also released a new look starring Jason Momoa as Dante Fast Xwhich you can view below.

The man likes his knives. The character’s origin is also related to the events of Fast five since Dante happens to be the son of drug lord Hernan Reyes, who was the villain of Fast five. The new sequel will revisit the safe heist in Rio from that film, but this time it will be from the villains perspective as it will show that Dante was there the whole time trying to stop Dom and Brian from getting the money to steal from his family. “Family goes both ways‘ Leterrier said. “There is family on your side. There is also family on the other person’s side. When family, which was your super strength, becomes your Achilles’ heel, that’s where you get hurt the most.

Louis Leterrier previously teased the “Rashomon” twist Fast five Heist explored in Fast X. “So what we tried was Rashomon the Fast Five Safe Heist which is my all time favorite,‘ Letterrier explained. “We were like, ‘What if we filmed it through the eyes of the bad guys? Where are the bad guys in this vision, Dom and Brian, and they’re stealing that family vault?’ So let’s play with the time. We play with perspective. That felt like a very strong thematic direction to start the film. The film then runs out. There is madness that follows. But thematically it is very understandable.
