“Foodgod” Jonathan Cheban files $20 million lawsuit alleging sauce bottle was cut open on hand

food godAKA Jonathan Chebanis suing a Korean BBQ sauce maker… claiming one of the glass bottles shattered into pieces, cutting his hand in the process.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Jonathan says he bought a glass bottle of San-J’s Korean barbecue sauce from a Florida grocery store in October 2020, placed it in his refrigerator at home, and took it out a few hours later while preparing dinner .
However, Jonathan claims the bottle “inexplicably” exploded in his hand as he took it out of the fridge, with one of the large shards severely cutting his hand… and reportedly causing “considerable blood loss.”
Jonathan says he has the pictures included in the lawsuit, which show he didn’t even open the bottle before it ruptured – and insists the twist-top seal was still intact after his hand was cut open .
He also says he had numerous stitches and suffered nerve damage and ongoing pain in his hand…and he claims the cut was inches from “major arteries in his wrist.”

Jonathan claims he has suffered decreases in areas such as the ability to use his hand in his social media posts, in his advertisements and in his ability to sponsor various foods.
He’s now suing the maker of both the sauce and the bottle, as well as the retailer and the store where he bought it… asking for a whopping $20 million for the big chunk.
Anyway, pictures from the days after the alleged incident showed him in pretty good spirits… as he dressed up Joe Exotic with Kim Kardashian and their children.
It seems like even a food god can’t avoid the dangers of cooking.
