Over a dozen people have been charged following an investigation into money laundering of drug trafficking profits, intimidation and extortion.

As part of Operation Satailt, gardaí have charged 14 men and four women, while a teenager has been referred to the Garda Youth Diversion Program.

The 18 people due to appear in Dublin District Court this morning are charged with over 80 offenses relating to money laundering, theft and possession of drugs for sale or supply.

A Garda spokesman said: “As a result of an ongoing operation targeting individuals profiting from the proceeds of crime in the North Dublin area, 18 individuals are due to appear in Dublin District Courts this morning, Monday 11 September 2023.”

Operation Satailt is a targeted response by An Garda Síochána targeting money laundering and proceeds of crime by focusing on individuals who have benefited from drug trafficking, drug-related intimidation and extortion.
