G20 Summit: Has India emerged as the leader of the global south?

The G20 summit in New Delhi was a big event for India. There were some major announcements during the summit – the African Union was admitted to the group, several infrastructure measures were announced and India made a joint statement on the first day of the summit itself.

G20 leaders and media organizations praised India’s efforts in making the event a huge success. India has thus positioned itself as the leader of the global south.
