The Garda Press Office released the image of the Garda Chief’s meeting with His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri as part of the “ongoing collaboration between An Garda Siochana and international police partners to combat transnational organized crime”.

“Furthermore, Commissioner Harris, in cooperation with the Departments of Justice and the Department of State, has expanded An Garda Síochána’s network of international liaison offices with new offices already established in the United States, South America and most recently in the Middle East, with another office in the future.” established in Thailand.”

Lt. Gen. Al Marri also attended a high-level anti-money laundering meeting in Dubai chaired by the country’s Foreign Minister, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The 19th session of the Higher Committee overseeing the National Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Terrorist Financing Strategy discussed how the UAE has levied total fines of over AED210 million year-to-date on non-compliant companies.

It was also discussed at the meeting that the total value of seizures over the past two years was more than AED 4 billion and the work of law enforcement agencies in the country in cooperation with various foreign law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrest of 387 international suspects.
