WATCH IT: When the bat is gone, the knights play along Gotham Knights
Not to be confused with the recently released PlayStation game of the same name – and premise – the latest from The CW (and perhaps one of the recently sold last network) DC Comics-based show begins with the death of Gotham City’s Dark Knight. After Batman is buried, Bruce Wayne’s adopted son Turner Hayes (Oscar Morgan) tries to become Metropolis’ next champion with the help of Robin (Navia Robinson) and a (suicide) squad of other young heroes. Got into production before James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios, Gotham Knights is a show caught between universes…but that means these knights can have a lot more fun without continuity. — Ethan age
Gotham Knights Premieres Tuesday, March 14 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
WATCH IT: Common girl murders shows twisted true stories
This six-episode series features re-enactments of horror stories ripped from the headlines, including one about Vegas showgirls and another about Texas rodeo queens. The first show deals with the case of Stacy DeGrandchamp, a 17-year-old who was stabbed to death at a backyard party by Holly Boisvert, the girl who was said to be her best friend. Authorities had a hard time putting it all together because they couldn’t get the witnesses to tell them what happened. Boisvert finally pleaded guilty to manslaughter in 2021 but there are still so many questions. First off, what happened to bring about such a tragedy? And why had none of the others there stepped in to stop the violence? – Raechal Shewfelt

WATCH IT: PBS offers a “fresh, feminist perspective.” Marie Antoinette
It turns out there’s a lot more to the former Queen of France’s story than the gorgeous dresses and candy-colored surroundings we remember from Sofia Coppola’s cool biopic, which starred the always amazing Kirsten Dunst. Not that we’re complaining! But who better than PBS to churn out a dramatic new series about the young king who was eventually executed, written by Deborah Davis, who wrote the acclaimed 2018 film The favourite, and with German actress Emilia Schüle in the title role. “It’s certainly not a dusty historical drama,” says Schüle in a sneak peek clip. “You won’t hear the line ‘Let her eat cake’ because she never said it. We will show a completely new Marie Antoinette.” What viewers will behold, the net promises is”a fresh, feminist attitude‘ about a woman who struggled to live the life she wanted until her execution in 1793. —RS

WATCH IT: Air Force One flies on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray
Harrison Ford’s illustrious film career can almost be divided into three phases: Conspicuous young action star (Star Wars, Blade Runner, Indiana Jones), gracefully aging playwright (Regarding Henry, The Fugitive, What Lies Beneath) and grizzled action vet (Star Wars, Blade Runner And Indiana Jones, once again). Square in this middle category lies arguably Ford’s most popular non-franchise venture: Air Force One. And why wouldn’t HF fans love AFO? He’s president in the movie And he kicks it in the ass. The thriller, directed by Wolfgang Petersen – starring heavyweights Glenn Close and Gary Oldman – gets an Ultra HD launch this week and looks slicker than ever in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision. — Kevin Powy

Stream it: Best Documentary nominated All the beauty and the bloodshed coming to HBO Max
Before becoming almost a statistic of the opioid epidemic, famed photographer Nan Goldin saw numerous family members and close friends die before their time. The remarkable non-fiction portrait by Laura Poitras connects Goldin’s personal story with her activism today and spearheads a campaign to hold the Sackler family accountable for their role in unleashing Oxycontin on the world. Even if her efforts are successful, in a devastating finale, Poitras reminds us that full justice can remain elusive for the rich and powerful. — EA
