Heat fans outside the Kaseya Center celebrate Eastern Conference Semifinals win over the Knicks – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

MIAMI (WSVN) — Cheering Miami Heat fans celebrated their hometown basketball teams as they exit Kaseya Arena 96-92 win over the New York Knicksa win that catapulted them into the Eastern Conference Finals.

There was a standstill outside the Kaseya Center on Biscayne Boulevard late Friday night, but on the venue’s steps, Heat fans cheered and chanted “Let’s go Heat,” while some waved at 7News cameras.

One fan pointed out that this was not an easy win.

“I bit my nails but I knew we were going to win,” she said.

“In the beginning we were like, ‘Okay, the Knicks are pretty good’ as the team got closer [in score]but then the [Heat] We teamed up and made the game,” said one man.

A former New Yorker offered his unique take on the outcome of Friday’s game.

“I’m a New Yorker, born and raised, but you know, something special is brewing on the Miami grounds,” he said. “There’s a reason we all New Yorkers come to Miami, because Miami has this special energy and people want it, people feel it. We have Jimmy Buckets, we have Kyle Lowry and we have the Bam!”

The fans were also thrilled because the Florida Panthers also reached the Eastern Conference Finals afterwards defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 in overtime.
