Heliot Emil RTW Fall 2023 – WWD

Heliot Emil, the iconic Danish fashion label founded by brothers Victor and Julius Juul, wasn’t shy about putting on a show just before Dior. Supporters of the brand formed a long line outside the Montparnasse venue on Tuesday.

Following a strict dress code, which was all black, black raincoats were offered to show-goers of color to cover themselves. A Boston Dynamics cyber dog was also present at the venue to entertain guests before the start of the show.

Inspired by the sculptural work of Henry Moore, the collection featured figure-hugging puffers in dramatic shapes, seductive leather miniskirts, Terminator-esque looks in shimmering silver fabric, and pieces with asymmetric zips.

It was a solid collection for those into the Rick Owens clans aka the Monotones and the Vanguard. His effort to create interesting proportions around the body made ready-to-sell pieces seem more desirable, and those skinny boots and lunchbox bags will be everywhere in street style.

To add to the drama, the brand sent a man on fire down the runway. For safety reasons, one person held a fire extinguisher next to the model on the runway.
