Home Alone Cast & Crew: Where Are They Now?

The art of the Christmas movie was changed forever on November 16, 1990. That’s it Home alone received wide release (after premiering in Chicago the previous week), and the film became an instant phenomenon. It broke box office records and remains a classic to this day. No Christmas goes by without this film hitting cable or YouTube channels and uploading a video where they analyze the injuries.
Time certainly has a knack for flying, and Home alone is now 32 years old. A lot has changed in that time, as evidenced by the lives of the cast and crew.

Even after all these years, many people return to the Christmas comedy every year and have festive fun with the iconic characters. After all these years, it’s interesting to see where the various cast members have gone with their careers, from those who are still best remembered for that film to others who found huge success. Christmas is the perfect time of year to find out where the cast of Home Alone are at right now.
Macaulay Culkin
Macaulay Culkin was born on August 26, 1980 and was just 10 years old at the time Home alone was published. Culkin is now 41, making the passage of time that little bit more painful. After a long hiatus, Culkin returns to acting.
In 2021 he starred in the tenth season of “Mickey”. American Horror Storytitled American Horror Story: Double Feature. He also hosts a pop culture podcast entitled rabbit ears. On April 5, 2021, Culkin and his girlfriend Brenda Song welcomed a son named Dakota Song Culkin.
Joe Pesci
The same year he had his Oscar-winning role as a dangerous gangster in Martin Scorsese Goodfellas, Pesci showed his goofy side in Home Alone. He was hilarious as the tough but clumsy crook Harry
Like Culkin, Pesci took a very long hiatus from acting, after which he all but disappeared Deadly weapon 4 in 1998. However, in 2019 he managed a spectacular comeback The Irishman, earned his third Oscar nomination. He will next be seen in the upcoming Pete Davidson comedy series bupkis.
Daniel Stern
Joe Pesci was joined by Daniel Stern, who played the younger and more dodgy burglar Marv. His hilarious performance provided some of the film’s best slapstick moments. He followed Home alone with another comedy classic, city dwellers with Billy Crystal.
In 2019, he produced and starred in a Canadian sci-fi comedy titled James versus his future self. He’s also done extensive television work, starring in eight episodes of the Hulu comedy in 2019 Shrill.

Kevin’s father doesn’t get much to do, but the character is strengthened by the presence of John Heard. Heard would have even greater success later Home aloneand even received an Emmy nomination for playing Vin Makazian The sopranos.
Heard continued to guest-star on notable shows, ex Prison breakout to entourage to modern family. Unfortunately, on July 21, 2017, Heard suffered a fatal heart attack and passed away. He was 71 years old.
Catherine O’Hara
Kevin’s mother played a much more important role in the story as she was much more concerned and active in getting back to Kevin. Kate McAllister was played by the wonderful Canadian actress Catherine O’Hara.
These days, O’Hara is known for playing washed-up actress Moira Rose Schott’s Creek. The show aired for six seasons between 2015 and 2020 and received critical acclaim throughout. In 2020, O’Hara won an Emmy and stole the show with her impractical outfits Schott’s Creek as Moira Rose. She will soon be starring as part of the star-studded spy action film argyle.
Devin Ratray
While there are about a thousand children in it Home alone, Buzz easily makes the biggest impression. This bully was played to wonderful perfection by Devin Ratray. Ratray is now 45 years old and has continued to act in film and television.
Ratray appeared as Stephen in the 2019 crime comedy hustlers. But perhaps most amazingly, Ratray revived the character of Buzz McAllister after almost 30 years by playing him on Disney+ Home, sweet, home alone. Most recently, he appeared in a small role in the final season of Better call Saul as well as in Steve Soderbergh’s 2022 thriller Kimi.
John Candy
Already a comedy icon, John Candy took on the role of Gus Polinski, the friendly polka player who drives Kate McAllister home with his band. The small cameo was a favor for John Hughes, who Candy had worked with Airplanes, Trains & Cars.
Candy continues his successful film series Home alone with films like Cool runs as well as a rare dramatic role in Oliver Stones JFK. Sadly, Candy died in 1994 at the age of 43, despite leaving behind a beloved career.
Robert’s bloom
Harry and Marv make some evil Christmas movie villains, but many were just as scared of Robert Blossom as McAllisters’ neighbor Marley. However, as Blossom learns more about him, he does a great job and shows his surprisingly kind side.
Blossom, who was born in 1924, had a long career in Hollywood before landing his most famous role. His last film role was in Sam Raimi’s western The fast and the dead. Unfortunately, Blossom passed away in 2011.
Kieran Culkin
While his brother was the star of the show, Kieran Culkin took on the memorable supporting role of Kevin’s bed-wetting cousin Fuller. It was Culkin’s first film role and eventually became the launch pad for a great career.
Culkin took on various roles as a child actor father of the bride and The cider house rules. But his adult career was even more impressive with roles in Scott pilgrim vs the worldSeason 2 of Fargoand his acclaimed role as Roman Roy, one of HBO’s best characters successor.
Chris Columbus
Chris Columbus films are widely popular. Columbus is one of the most robust directors in the industry and has overseen people like her Home alone, Mrs Doubtfireand the first two Harry Potter movies.
After a five-year hiatus from directing, Columbus returned in 2020 with the Netflix holiday comedy The Christmas Chronicle 2. These days Columbus seems more interested in production. He owns the production company 1492 Pictures and has recently produced films such as The lighthouse and Schoob!
John Hughes
John Hughes was the primary creative force behind it Home alone. In addition to writing the screenplay, he produced the film exclusively through his production company, Hughes Entertainment.
After helping define teen comedy in the 1980s, the success of Home alone found Hughes towards family-friendly films like Beethoven and flubbers.
Sadly, Hughes didn’t live to see his 20th birthday Home alone. He tragically died in 2009 after suffering a heart attack on the streets of Manhattan. He was just 59 years old.
Raj Gosnell
Editing is an underrated aspect of filmmaking. help shape Home alone, Hughes hired acclaimed editor Raja Gosnell. Gosnell worked frequently with director Chris Columbus after editing the first two Home alone movies & Mrs Doubtfire.
Gosnell quit editing in 1995, his last credit being that led by Hugh Grant Nine months. Instead, Gosnell has turned to directing. He directed the first two Smurfs films and in 2021 co-directed a film called gun and a hotel bible alongside Alicia Joy LeBlanc.
John Williams
Home alone received two Oscar nominations, and both came courtesy of composer John Williams. His score was nominated for Best Original Score, and “Somewhere in My Memory” was nominated for Best Original Song (he wrote the music).
Williams turned 90 in 2022 but still works like he did at 29. He has composed four war of stars Movies since 2015 – the core three and Solo: A Star Wars Story. He recently scored Steve Spielberg’s goal The Fabelmans and has proposed his forthcoming score for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
