I was fined £60 for parking in front of a McDonald’s for 47 SECONDS – I shouldn’t have to pay

A taxi driver has been fined £60 for parking 47 seconds in front of a McDonald’s.
Kam Parvez had driven to the Trent Vale branch to pick up a customer.
But the 33-year-old was stunned when he was hit with the parking fine at the Springfield Retail Park branch.
It was handed out after the parking lot operator claimed Kam had parked on yellow “keep clear” markers near the entrance to the McDonald’s parking lot.
Now Kam from Meir Park has managed to nullify the penalty after winning a second appeal.
And he was able to show that he had never parked on the company’s proposed “keep clear” markings.
Kam Parvez said: “I was in there for 47 seconds including the U-turn and including loading the customer into the vehicle.
“I was parked outside the restricted area. The customer was already waiting at the side of the road.
“They rejected my appeal and attached a site plan. In it, the area has a red line that extends to the entrance of McDonald’s.
“It’s larger than the area they marked on the road. I want the public to know.
“They told me it was because I entered the marked area and parked there.
“But I didn’t park inside the keep-clear zone. I parked outside this zone.”
iPark Services has been contacted for comment.
Another driver called, Marcus Ward was fined £50 at McDonald’s for parking outside the restaurant.
And Shapour Meftah was fined for eating his food too slowly.
