However, shopping at Costco requires a membership — and with prices starting at $60 a year, it’s often not worth it if you only go to the store a few times a year.

The reason Costco prices are so low is because of the membership fee.

The retailer says the “membership fee allows us to offset many of our operating costs and make our merchandise more affordable”.

But if you thought Costco was just for members, think again.

The trick to shopping at the store without a membership is to use Instacart.

The delivery app and website partners with Costco to bring products to non-members and have them delivered to your door.

The app became popular as a contactless delivery service during the Covid pandemic – and now offers delivery to hundreds of retailers.

It’s a game changer for Costco’s members-only policy as it’s free to use.

That means Americans can try Costco products without obligation.

Same day delivery on Instacart starts at just $3.99 for orders over $35.

If you’re an Instacart+ member, shipping is free on orders over $35.

The only downside is that you might pay a slightly higher price at Instacart than at Costco’s locations.

Costco says, “If you’re not a member, you can shop directly at Instacart.com, but you’ll pay a higher price than members who shop at Costco Same-Day Delivery.”

But if you’re already a Costco member, you can try Instacart+ for free for two months.

And you can get a discounted Instacart+ membership if you decide to continue after the free trial period.

There are several other ways to bypass Costco membership.

Anyone can buy items at Costco.com, but you’ll be charged an extra five percent for a product, making the price slightly higher than what’s listed on the site.

Using gift cards is another way to shop at the retail giant.

Gift cards, known in camp as Costco Shop Cards, have no expiration date and are available in denominations ranging from $25 to $2,000.

Non-members using a Costco Shop Card can even buy gas from Costco.

If you’re not a frequent Costco shopper, using a store card might make more sense than buying a membership card.

And if your friend is a Costco member, join them on their shopping spree.

Costco members can bring up to two guests each time they visit the camp.
