I’m a mechanic – customers are always surprised to see me in the shop, but I love my job

A FEMALE mechanic went in front of the camera to show how it is possible to overcome the adversities of working in her traditionally male-dominated profession.
The video features Kizzy, a tire technician, who moved into a new auto service center after men at her former shop disapproved of her gender.
We see them Tick tock out of Eden tires Start by showing Kizzy how to use a tire lever to lift a car.
The clip’s overlay text reads, “You [Kizzy] has been with us for four years now and works from our office in Melton Mowbray.
“She has always been interested in cars and came to us after a previous garage she worked at didn’t like that she was a woman!”
This TikTok notes that Kizzy prides herself on providing exceptional customer service at her job.

The video’s narration states, “One thing Kizzy loves about her role working with us at Eden Tires and Service is seeing her customers smile.”
We’re told Kizzy laughs at how customers are often surprised to see her in a garage instead of a man.
As we learn more about this mechanic’s work experience, we see close-ups of her mounting a tire on a rim.
The narrator of this TikTok said: “She is a woman herself [Kizzy] feels like she can help others who come into the store feel more comfortable and make the experience a little less intimidating.
“She thinks it would be great to get more women into the industry and so do we [Eden Tires and Servicing] also do!”
Viewers took to the comments section to express their support for Kizzy breaking gender stereotypes.
One TikTok user wrote: “I don’t care if a man or a woman does the work on my car.
“As long as it’s done and I don’t have any problems afterwards, we’re good.”
