I’m seething with rage after a car parked across my driveway ignored the double yellow lines – it resulted in me missing a hospital appointment

A disabled homeowner has attacked a motorist who was blocking her driveway by parking on double yellow lines – forcing her to miss a hospital appointment.

Linda Smith from Coventry has a lowered curb in front of her house and a sign on her gate saying Disabled Access.

But she says this is often not enough to deter drivers from blocking their driveway, even though double yellow lines are slapped on the road.

She was furious when a motorist parked her car right outside, meaning she couldn’t back her car to drive to a hospital appointment.

She told CoventryLive: “We have a curb, double yellow lines and a sign on the gate saying access is disabled at all times.

“But cars are parked on the street and in front of the gate, which prevented us from getting out of the driveway.”

Linda said people blocking her driveway was an “ongoing problem”.

She added: “The cars on the sidewalk also prevent you from getting through.

“The poor guy we see on the street most of the time doesn’t come by on his disabled bike.”

The driver of the car was branded “selfish” by outraged social media users after Linda shared a photo of the car on Facebook.

One user said: “You should have called the police as they blocked your ride.”

Another commented: “BMW drivers, you own the road with Audi drivers.”

It comes after the “worst parker of the year” was called out when an angry local resident passively left aggressive notes on the window pane.

An outraged homeowner left not one, but three notes on the driver’s car – and the news has divided opinion.

On several pieces of paper are the words: “I want to congratulate you on the worst parking so far this year!

“Not only is your car across the bay and a double yellow — which, by the way, makes it a great pleasure to back into my driveway — but your parking is disrupting the flow of traffic.”

“Once again – well done,” read sarcastically in giant bubble type as the parting word for the tirade.
