Team India, on the other hand, is in top form. They won their first game of the Super 4 by a massive 228 runs by defeating Pakistan. Although India struggled in most of the games with rain interrupting the game, they showed some great performances with the bat during the game.

The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got off to a good start by posting an opening partnership of 121 runs. Star batsman Virat Kohli scored a brilliant knock of 122* off 94 to reach his 77th career century. Batter KL Rahul announced his comeback with an unbeaten 111 off 106 in his first game after his injury.

India also made progress in their bowling, especially when Jasprit Bumrah returned to the lineup and swung the ball, which was a nightmare for the Pakistan batsmen. Kuldeep Yadav also showed how effective his wrist spin is as he took five wickets for just 25 runs in eight overs.

With such a brilliant performance from the Indian team, it can be expected that India can easily get past Sri Lanka in their next encounter. However, all this depends on how much rest and recovery the players have, which can affect their performance and is likely to be a disadvantage for Team India.
