AMAZON appears to have stopped operating due to a bizarre outage affecting the tills.

Is Amazon down?

On December 7, 2022, around noon UK time, thousands of Amazon Users flocked to down detector to report that Amazon is having outages.

About 81% of users reported problems with the checkout, while 11% encountered problems with the app.

Only 9 percent of users indicated that level issues came from the website.

It seems that when ordering online, users are having trouble to checkout.

Amazon has not yet discussed the outage. We reached out to Amazon for comment and will update this story with each response.

According to the map on Downdetector, the outages appear to be global.

When else does the Amazon app stop working?

It was the third major disruption since late June 2021, when users experienced a brief outage on Amazon platforms before services were restored.

In early June, an internet outage caused Amazon, Twitter and HMRC’s sites to crash – caused by ONE person changing their settings.

Similarly, as of the evening of Sunday, July 11, over 31,000 outages were reported for the website, according to Downdetector.

As of 11pm EST, 31,694 Amazon customers were reporting outages.

According to Downdetector, 81 percent of the problems reported were related to the website, 15 percent to the login and 5 percent to the checkout.

And in January 2021, thousands of Britons were unable to access online shopping giant Amazon due to a bizarre glitch caused by Sky Broadband.

The app and website experienced issues on December 15, 2021.

Reports on social media showed that the platform was not working for some users, leaving frustrated shoppers unable to log in or make purchases.
