James McAvoy Reveals His Favorite X-Men Movie (And Most Challenging)

James McAvoy, who played young Professor X on The Fox X-Men Film Franchise, reveals which of these films was his favorite and which presented the most challenging. McAvoy debuted in the 2011 film as mutant telepath and X-Men founder Charles Xavier, also known as Professor X X-Men: First Class, Assuming the role of Patrick Stewart for the prequel film. McAvoy went on to play the character in it X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, as well as a cameo appearance in dead pool 2
During an appearance in a video for GQ, McAvoy reflects on his time in the X-Men franchise and reveals an amusing behind-the-scenes anecdote about his hair X-Men: Days of Future Past. “First Class is probably my favorite film, but in terms of what I get to do as an actor, I would say that Days of Future Past was probably the most challenging and interesting experience I’ve had as an actor in the X-Men films .”
Could Professor X return to the MCU?
McAvoy’s comments make sense as it’s understandable that his first appearance as Professor X would hold a special place in his heart. The actor has also previously shared his appreciation for X-Men: Days of Future Past, describe it as “One of the better films I’ve been a part of.” Fans of the franchise have since largely agreed with McAvoy’s comments X-Men: Days of Future Past remains a crowd pleaser. Additionally, McAvoy has been praised over the years for his performance as the young Professor X.
After his positive experiences in the X-Men franchise, McAvoy has made comments about his interest in returning as a mutant, saying last year he would “Never say Never” to reprise the role of Professor X. Since Disney acquired both Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox, there has been much anticipation for the official introduction of mutants and the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
