The star jockey was “pinned” in the turf after her horse Flyball clipped the heels of eventual winner Veight in the Group 2 Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m).
Kah was later cleared of any fractures or brain injuries, but suffered a severe concussion after repeatedly falling unconscious after the horrific fall.
Williams also suffered a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a broken finger and a concussion of his own after his horse Dubenenko tripped over Kah’s fallen horse.
The horses were galloped on after the incident and reportedly suffered only minor abrasions.
Veterinarians will examine the horses again in the morning.
Victorian Jockeys’ Association boss Matt Hyland said Kah’s fall was “quite serious”.
“Both drivers sustained a blow to the head, especially Jamie,” Hyland said.
“She was unconscious for a while but thankfully is conscious now.
“It seems like everything else seems fine.”
After the fall there was a lengthy 40 minute delay as paramedics worked on the fallen jockeys while Kah’s partner and fellow jockey Ben Melham rode the next winner before going to her in hospital.
“I’m going to put the cue in the rack for the day and just make sure she’s okay,” Melham said.
“It’s just a reminder of how dangerous the job can be in the last week or so, but right now, winners don’t matter as long as everyone is okay.”
Kah was scheduled to ride In Secret in Group 1 Newmarket Handicap but her place was taken by Dean Holland who rode the star horse to victory.
It comes just a week after jockeys Ethan Bronn and Mark Zahra also fell at Flemington.
Brown is still in hospital after suffering internal injuries when his horse Maximillius rolled on him.
Zahra escaped injury and both horses survived the incident.
