Jenna Ortega wants you to know that she’s not as “somber and twisted” as you think

Jenna Ortega kicked her out Saturday night live Hosting debut with a nod to her days as a child actress in a Colgate toothpaste commercial, but added a horror twist to the ad given her starring role in Wednesdaythe Netflix series inspired by the Addams Family.
“A lot of people assume that in real life I’m dark and twisted because of these roles that I’m playing,” Ortega said after also hinting at her role scream VI. “But I’m not really like that. I think there’s just something about my face when people see it and they’re like, ‘Hey, let’s put blood on it.'”

The 20-year-old joked about her beginnings as an actress: “I was discovered when my mother put a video of me on Facebook, someone explaining to me that it was like TikTok, but for racism instead of dancing.”
In the toothpaste commercial she was shooting at the age of nine, Ortega described germs as “invisible evils”. But after some musical and visual edits, that phrase became the title of an upcoming horror movie.
Wednesdaywhich got the green light for a second season and which inspired many memes about Ortega after her goth dance scene went viral, also shows former ones SNL Actor Fred Armisen seated in the audience.
“I’m so honored that you’re here,” Ortega said after inviting him onto the stage. “You’re the reason I started watching SNL, Strictly speaking. My favorite sketch of all time is The Californians.
“Thank you Jenna. That’s so beautiful,” Armisen replied. “You know, the original idea came to me because I was giving instructions…”
“Yeah, we thought it was something like that,” Ortega stepped in, pushing him back into his seat. “It’s fine. Thanks Fred.”
In the episode from Saturday SNL also revealed who will be providing the monologue next on the April 1 episode: Quinta Brunson will serve as host, with musical guest Lil Yachty:
