John Travolta and Katherine Heigl star in That’s Amore!

The couple have joined the cast of the film, which is written and directed by two-time Academy Award winner Nick Vallelonga. Christopher Walken is also in negotiations for an appearance.

The film follows Nick Venere (Travolta), who has never been married and is well past his best dating years. He has never heard the words “I love you” and reckons he never will.

Patty Amore (Heigl) has problems of her own when a secret from her past and an overprotective father cause her to retire from the dating game. But when Nick and Patty literally meet, they instantly bond.

When the two emotionally damaged people start dating and their families get involved, the results are hilarious.

The film begins production in August, with Vallelonga producing through its Vallelonga Productions banner. David Polemini will serve as Executive Producer along with Tamara Birkemoe and Mark Damon on the newly launched distribution banner, Palisades Park Pictures (PPP).

Travolta recently resurrected his “Grease” character Danny Zuko for a Super Bowl commercial, six months after the death of his co-star Dame Olivia Newton-John.

The 69-year-old actor slipped back into Danny’s famous leather jacket to sing a parody of the hit film Summer Nights with Scrubs stars Zach Braff and Donald – a duet with Olivia, who died last August at the age of 73 Faison in the commercial for T-Mobile.

In the ad, the trio sings about the benefits of the wireless company’s home internet service.

Faison admitted he was totally stuck with the star issue when working with Travolta.

He said: “Listen, it’s really hard for me to meet other actors or colleagues and things like that. I’m happy for everyone, but I’ll tell you this: If you’re in my top 5 or top 10, I’ll go crazy. Travolta is in my top 5 and I’ve gone insane.”
