He said September 2022 that he wants to make his “health a priority”.

The tour’s official Twitter page announced on Tuesday that ticket holders would automatically receive a refund.

The Canadian was set to play shows in the US, Australia and Europe, including a date in Manchester originally scheduled for this Saturday (March 4).

However, some of his fans have previously expressed their dismay at not being given refunds for rescheduled dates on the now-canceled tour, which has reportedly grossed $55million (£46million).

The cancellation has not yet been officially justified.

reaction of the fans

Cade Harper, 23, from Aberdeen, who received tickets as a Christmas present from a family member in November 2021, told BBC News: “I’m sorry he has canceled but his health comes first and I totally understand.

“I just wish he hadn’t said it was just postponed. This would have been the second time I’d seen him as I’ve already seen him in Glasgow for the Purpose tour so was looking forward to seeing him in my hometown of Aberdeen. “

Bieber took a complete break from music in 2019 to focus on his mental health.

The Grammy winner’s latest album, featuring the likes of Burna Boy, Chance the Rapper and Khalid, hit number one in the US and number two in the UK charts in 2021.

But he said subsequent shows in Europe have “taken a real toll on me” and that he needs more time to “rest and get better”.

What is Ramsay Hunt Syndrome?

Bieber shows his eye problem

Bieber revealed the effects of his facial paralysis in June 2022 and has only performed live about half a dozen times since then

RHS is when an outbreak of shingles affects the facial nerve near a person’s ears, causing paralysis of parts of the face.

It cannot be passed from one person to another, but it is a complication of shingles associated with the chickenpox virus, which many people can get when they are children.

According to the charity Facial Paralysis UKwhen the immune system becomes weakened and less able to fight off infection, the body can become vulnerable to reactivation of the chickenpox virus.

Stress is often a trigger as it can weaken the immune system and people who are stressed are more likely to get infections.
