Kim Jong-Un is reportedly set to meet with Putin over arms sales

Wladimir Putin seems willing to meet Kim Jong Un in the near future, and he wants to talk about banding together for the Ukraine war…which is definitely a terrible update.

The NYT reports that the North Korean leader and Russian president are scheduled to hold a face-to-face meeting sometime later this month… and that it would be Kim traveling to Russia for the meeting. What they will discuss: The Times says it’s all about guns.

Apparently, during the ongoing war, Putin and company have needed some key reinforcements — particularly artillery shells and anti-tank missiles… which he believes North Korea can supply.

In return… the NYT says Kim is looking for newer satellite technology and nuclear-powered submarines, as well as food for his people. There are no guarantees, but it sounds like North Korea is definitely open to the talks and seriously committed to at least discussing that possibility.

Obviously, this is bad news in general…it seems Putin wants to form some sort of alliance with Kim Jong-Un, with both nations being opponents of the US/West as a whole.

Two conclusions can be drawn from this: First, Putin/Russia is low on firepower and appears to be running out of allies/resources, so they are going to the isolated North Korean state for support. Second, it appears to be evidence that America’s funds are helping Ukraine Zelenskyj ward off Russia.
