Kylie Jenner Appears in NFT-Themed “Treehouse of Horror” Segment on “The Simpsons”

The annual episode “Treehouse of Horror” started on Sunday. and while an NFT-themed story may have caused a stir again in this world, it also caused a stir after the voice of Kylie Jenner played a version of herself.

The Halloween-themed anthology, this year titled “Treehouse of Horror XXXIV,” began with a story about how Bart was turned into an NFT, or Non-Fungible Token. And it’s up to his mother Marge to get to the World Wide Web and fight her way through the blockchain to save him, with a little help from Jenner and her friends.

Here’s a look at how the moment played out and what the reactions were.

Kylie’s guest appearance

After Bart is turned into an NFT, Marge and Homer receive a visit from a trio known as “the enlightened intellectuals who protect the crypto-verse,” consisting of Jenner, Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Fallon – with only Jenner being their actual voice delivers.

After Homer said he thought they were “prominent shills” for NFTs, Jenner quickly cleared things up.

“Ugh, we would never promote a technology if we didn’t understand the distributed ledger underlying it,” she said.

In the next scene, Jenner prepared Marge for digitization and gave her an encryption key.

“This key is a backdoor through the blockchain’s cryptographic protocol,” she said, taking a quick duck-lipped selfie with Marge before finishing her thought. “Once you’re inside, find Bart and use him to get you both out.”

Marge would succeed in her mission, but Homer decided to get in on the madness and became an NFT himself, only for people to lose interest shortly after.

Some viewers reacted on social media I’m happy about Jenner’s appearance as a result, during many asked themselves what she was doing there and Why the show? she would have.

Well, according to showrunner Matt Selman, one of the reasons she snuck into the episode to make fun of herself more easily is because of her family’s latest reality series The Kardashians is on Hulu, which comes along with The simpsons is all part of the Disney family.

Kylie and NFTs

Jenner became one of the youngest and richest self-made entrepreneurs with her cosmetics line Kylie Cosmetics, helping her carve out a niche in the beauty and fashion world.

And one of the many reasons she’s hovering around billionaire status is because she was among the first names to dabble in NFTs. She launched something called “Exclusive NFT Beauty Drops,” which represented exclusive beauty products, behind-the-scenes content, and virtual experiences featuring Jenner that fans could buy, trade, or hold.

The simpsons predict the future

Speaking of NFTs, given the show’s history potentially predicting the future on a number of topics, many viewers are curious as to whether Sunday’s episode will mark the renewed rise of NFTs.

The simpsons airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
